Juan Manuel Mata has revealed that he has wanted to live in Australia for a long time after joining Western Sydney Wanderers.
After parting ways with Manchester United in 2022, the Spaniard had spells with Galatasaray and Vissel Kobe before deciding to move to the Land of the Kangaroos after being without a club since January.
Mata posted on his Instagram account: “I feel, once again, grateful to football for the many experiences and joys in my life.”
“Today, a new adventure begins. I am so excited! I will continue to enjoy this amazing sport by playing not only in a different country… but on a different continent, Australia, here I come!”
“I’ve always been in awe of this country and wanted to live there… Now I’m living in beautiful Sydney, I’m joining @wswanderersfc, the only Australian club to have won the Asian Cup and I can’t wait to get back to the team and train in preparation for the upcoming season.”
“Thankful and excited for this new adventure Promotion Ufabet and looking forward to winning another trophy in a different league! Go Western Sydney Wanderers, I’m one of you now.”
“PS. Friends and family, if you plan to visit, please plan ahead this time.”
